I was on a hunt for a new office chair that is comfortable and also looks stylish in my home office. I am so glad I got the Art Leon swivel chair. Very soft upholstery, beautiful vibrant color, great back support and the perfect size for my desk. I would definitely recommend it. It also arrived fast.
I love the look of the chair and found it comfortable to sit in for an 8+ hour workday. I should note, at 5'7" and 135#, I fill this chair like it was a custom size. If you have a larger build, you likely want a chair with bigger seat size. I work from home and bought this chair to up the style vibes of my office and while $180 isn't a fortune, I did expect a slightly higher quality chair.
The big issues...It arrived with an out of square base, as in one leg was a full 1/2" off the ground. We tweaked it slightly and thought extended sitting might help make it level, but alas it's still off 3/8" when you're not sitting in it. I think this might be why the chair squeaks every.time.I.move. :( The raised leg also means it looks a bit cheap instead of a bit classy.
It SMELLS. I mean it really, really smells. We left it in the garage with a fan blowing on it for a week, which took away the obvious, you can smell it as soon as you walk in the room, odor. Unfortunately, a month later it is still off-gassing and after a few hours sitting in it I get a headache, as well as a bad taste in my throat. Both of which make me concerned about potential long term effects from the off-gassing VOCs.
A new base would solve the uneven appearance and squeaking, but there isn't anything but time that is going to help this smell. Fingers crossed it doesn't take the 6mos, or even worse 5 years, that I've read it can take! For my health I'll have to go back to my old chair until this smell is gone.
